OIR - International Observatory on the Renewables’ Industry and Finance
Established in 2008 in collaboration with the GSE, the OIR monitors and analyzes the industrial value-chain of Italian and International renewable energy systems. OIR aims to have a comprehensive view and focuses on industrial issues, innovation, and finance. The Observatory also formulates opinion pieces regarding the development of the sector’s politico-administrative system and makes proposals to policy makers.
Since September 2010, OIR activities consist of:
- An Annual Report. In-depth document that examines the issues most relevant to renewables in Italy and internationally.
- Country Factsheets on Renewables. Brief profiles on the general context and the specific regulatory framework concerning renewables for fifty countries worldwide.
- Country Report on Renewables. In-depth reports on renewable energy in specific countries upon request.
- Opportunity Monitor. Monthly summary document that tracks the major calls for tender, funding, and legislative changes around the world.
Strengths
- Comprehensive and impartial view of the renewable energy sector.
- Innovativeness of the research: the Observatory was the first to monitor the manufacturing industry in renewable energy in Italy.
- Highly qualified partners that represent major stakeholders in the utility sector: corporate, services, trade associations, finance and public administration.
- Collaboration with the GSE: the Corrente portal that aims to join companies active in renewable energy was conceived by the Observatory.
